Welcome to the QAC Model Page, eh!

So here it is, finally! I am happy to announce that I have finally gotten off my ass and made us a model page. Due to space constrictions, the model page is located here at FortuneCity, who have been so kind as to let me use 20 megs of space, totally free! Well, totally free except for that pop up thingy and the occasional advertisement, but I can live with that since the price is right. The COTOHF page and the main QAC home will remain with that other web hosting service, though I'll stick in some links on both so it's easy to find your way back and forth between these great pages (great not so much by being of outstanding quality, but inherently great in our view by being ours). Anyhoo, this page is quite preliminary, so expect radical changes once I really get off my keester. I will in the due process of time upload all the models I have. The wee problem is that presently they're not all zipped up and ready to go, so I'm only going to put up the ones that are. But anyway, without further ado, here are...

The Models

Battroid - Ahh... Robotech, how I miss the days of good cartoons.
Boba Fett - A really decent rendering of that kickass Star Wars mercenary/bounty hunter guy.
Chef - My favourite character from South Park.
Cow - My second favourite character from South Park, I think he should get an Emmy for the depth of emotion he achieves in his role.
Dalek - Another memory from the good old days, whatever happened to Dr. Who anyway? I loved the use of the Dalek in the Mr. Bean Christmas Special Nativity
            scene.
Faerie - I don't know why, but I tend to laugh maniacally whenever I kill people that use this model.
Garfield - Doesn't hold a candle to my cat in terms of laziness
Grey - This funky little doodad'll be popular with all those UFO/conspiracy freaks. He's pretty neat looking, though, so I guess he won't be limited to them.
Mario - I always thought Luigi was way cooler, but don't fret fellow Luigiphiles, there's a skin for him too.
Marvin - Starvin' Marvin of South Park fame.
Optimus - Good ol' Optimus Prime. He died in the movie. Oh well.
R2D2 - That little beeping droid from Star Wars. It's really funny when he dances on his head (flipoff, I think).
Rei - Rei Ayanami for Neon Genesis Evangelion. You'd be amazed at how hard it is to find NGE in the original Japanese here in Québec. Donations anybody?
Valkyrie - Another Robotech model, this one is quite decent.
Xenoid - Don't know where this sucker comes from, but he looks a little like the critters from Alien. Downright one of the coolest models I've seen, after
the Astroboy, of course. It's fun sometimes to just make him flip (flipoff) over and over and over. Don't ask why, it just is.
YF-19 - From Macross Plus. I thought the YF-21 was better looking, but you can't help but love Isamu. If you can, well, you're wrong.

     Obviously, with more to come...

...once I get around to it.

     Oh yeah,

I'm putting up the astroboy model and, in addition, the ctf skins that I patched together.

The Astroboy Model
The CTF skins

For those of you who have no clue how to use models, create a directory called astro in "\quake2\baseq2\players\"and extract the files to it. If you have Quake II in a different directory, well then  put them in there, though the "\baseq2\players\" part will stay the same (not much sense in putting it somewhere else, huh?). After extracting, you should end up with something like "\quake2\baseq2\players\astro\", and have a bunch of files in that directory. That being done, you're now ready to frag as an astroboy! Or just as importantly, you'll be able to see when other people (like the QAC for example) use the model (you can only see player models that you have) to frag your ass. Ok, for those of you who are even more clueless, to use the model once in the game you go into multiplayer, then player setup,  and where it shows the model you're using (i.e. male, female, cyborg - for the even even more totally clueless) you use the left & right arrow keys to cycle around until you find the astro model. If you don't find it, make sure you have the files in the correct directory, and if that isn't it then as far as I'm concerned you're totally screwed (kinda like beige was when he first got the thing) so don't bother me 'cause I don't know how to help you, eh. Beige might though...

Seven cats, two dogs, eighteen hamsters, seventy-two goldfish, five groundhogs and one salamander were harmed in the production of this webpage. Additionally, four parakeets were severely burned, thirteen wombats spontaneously combusted, and eighteen lemmings were unfortunately left to their own business in an eighteenth-story appartment with an open balcony door.
